2 Months Dr's Visit

Today we had Piper's 2 month check-up! I learned my lesson the first time around, and this time we arrived with Piper's belly full as she slipped in and out of her morning nap. We arrived 25 minutes early (believe it or not!) but were whisked right back in a matter of minutes.

And now, our little pixie isn't much of a pixie anymore! She now weights 10 lbs and is 22.5 inches long. According to the charts, she's in the 50%tile for length, 30%tile for weight and 25%tile for the size of her head. For those of you who don't know what that means (I didn't so had to ask last time), that means that if she were compared to 99 other children, 50 (on average) would be longer, 70 would weigh more and 75 would have bigger heads. So, even though she's definitely grown and porked up, she's still relatively tiny for her age. And that's fine by me!

After chatting with the doctor for 20 mintues or so, I was reassured that her congestion, gas, spit up and everything else she does is perfectly normal (which I'd assumed) and she is a perfectly healthy 2 month old! And as usual, they saved the worst for last - she got three immunization shots right at the end. She cried plenty, but didn't give the heart wrenching wail she gave the first time - which was a big relief to me. I dried her tears, held her tight and gave her the last of her bottle and she quickly quieted down and off we went for the rest of our day!
