Piper - Two Months

Our little darling is 2 months old! And it just figures, right at the time that she's more alert and does more than eat, poop and sleep - I have to head back to work! :(

The last month though has been fun despite the knowledge that my time with her was going to be dramatically cut back to mornings, evenings, and weekends. The weather cooperated a little bit more and we were able to enjoy the handful of days that the temperatures and humidity weren't soaring into the 90's.

Piper is still in her newborn clothes and newborn sized diapers, but that won't last much longer! Our little Miss Milk Piggy is up to eating 4+ oz in a feeding and it's certainly starting to show. Just check out her double chin! She's still the most alert in the mornings and a couple weeks ago started smiling back at Matt and I when we talk to her. That is the best part of our days! She's now awake for longer after she eats, and doesn't just cry when she's awake - the other night I looked in on her and she was just laying in her crib wide awake. That doesn't happen often, but it's nice to see her start to comfort or entertain herself! She's able to sit up in the Bumbo all on her own, and can focus her eyes on, and follow toys that we wave in front of her face.

The times I notice the most how much she is growing and changing is when I'm getting her dressed (and trying new outfits to see if they finally fit) and when we go out to dinner. In the beginning, she would sleep right through a meal and it was almost like Matt and I were out to dinner on our own. Now that she's getting older, there is less sleeping and more alertness. It's fun to see how much she changes day to day. As many friends have told us, the time flies by so we're enjoying every day to its fullest. I'm sure she'll be all grown up before we know it....
