Days at the Parks

We took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL weather Maryland got over Labor Day weekend and headed off to a couple of local parks to enjoy the outdoors.

On Saturday, we headed to Down's Park which is on the Chesapeake Bay and definitely got our exercise - walking nearly 3+ miles! At the end, we laid out a sheet and spend some time just looking out at the water and playing with the Pipester. It was the kind of day I'd been hoping for my entire maternity leave - with a nice breeze, very little humidity and just a perfect temperature. That was my idea of a perfect afternoon with my two favorite people!

On Saturday we decided to head the opposite direction and check out Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. We invited our friends Matt, Michelle and their new addition Evan (one of Piper's boyfriends)to join us. Once again, the weather was BEAUTIFUL and we all commented on how it was a "perfect San Diego day" (they also lived in SD for several years). We checked out a few areas overlooking the river and once we were done drooling over the beautiful boats people were on anchored out in the water, we reluctantly headed back.

I was so excited to explore these new areas and Matt and I agreed that as Piper gets older, we want to go out and do things like this more often with her. And seeing both of these parks and what they had to offer made me miss San Diego a little less - and of course, the beautiful weather didn't hurt either!
