It's Sunday night at 10:30pm and this is the first time all weekend I've had a chance to prop my feet up and relax. Well, other than a few minutes here and there while I gave myself some time to prop a bowl of something on my big belly and eat in between everything else going on!
Matt and I have been busy all weekend long - unpacking, cleaning, yardwork (Ok, Matt did all the yardwork), shopping for things we need, spending family time on the Bay with my parents and Brother/Sister in Law, Father's Day cookout, more unpacking and organizing, laundry....you name it. We've been run ragged. I need this kid to come so I have an excuse to lay in bed for a couple of days and relax!
We were all hoping that the boat ride on Saturday on the Chesapeake would get Sprout moving in the right direction - and heard plenty of stories from others about how going out on a boat initiated labor - but we had no such luck! So, it's still a waiting game for now...
The nursery is about as done as it's going to get until after Sprout comes - we decided to finish up the painting and special touches until we knew if Sprout was a boy or girl. Mainly because I can't paint until Sprout comes and Matt's not exactly the "detail" guy - but I have to give him credit, he did an awesome job painting our nursery and guest room! But, laundry is done (and plenty of it), diapers are organized, clothes (gender neutral) are hung, pack n'play is put together and now we just need Sprout. I suppose the longer s/he waits to come out, the more time I have to get this house in order - and it's still several full days, if not weeks, away from being "in order". Unfortunately, what is left is the boring and annoying stuff - you know, those last few boxes of odds and ends that you don't want to get rid of but you don't quite know where to put...I may have to suck it up and keep a couple of "Junk Boxes" that will sit in the basement until I one day need some random item and think - ah ha - I know where it is!
For now, I'm going to enjoy my few minutes of relaxation without having to fold laundry or think about what I'm going to do next - because I'm going to bed. Tomorrow's a new day!
