I haven't used this excuse nearly as often as I could have or maybe should have over the past 9 months, but luckily, I don't think I've really needed to. Today, however, I truly had a major case of Pregnancy Brain.
In my rush to get out of the house this morning to get to the doctor's appointment on time, I grabbed a pair of shoes that I haven't worn in awhile from my half organized closet, and threw them in my bag. I usually wear flip flops to work so this was nothing out of the ordinary for me.
Unfortunately, about 10 minutes out from the office (keep in mind, I have a 50 minute commute each way) I realized that I totally forgot my laptop and paperwork I'd taken home with me on Thursday to work on from home on Friday! Doh! Pregnancy Brain occurance of the day #1.
I got to work and started my morning routine - which usually starts off with me kicking off my flip flops and putting on my heels or whatever shoes I'm wearing that day. Dumb dumb me never tried on the shoes at home before sticking them in my bag and much to my surprise, I couldn't get my fat, swollen feet in them. What an idiot I am - I haven't worn these shoes in at least a year and I'm 9 months pregnant and swollen - why on earth would I have thought they'd fit is beyond me! Pregnancy Brain occurance of the day #2.
Luckily, between my IT department giving me a loaner laptop for the day and my friend Celia luckily having an extra pair of flat sandals that not only fit but matched my outfit - everthing got taken care of. If those are the worst cases of PB I have had (or have) - I think I'm doing pretty good!
