Piper Jayne and Aunt SueBearSince I had a business meeting in NYC on my birthday, which was on a Monday this year, we decided to make a weekend out of it and head up to the Big Apple. With the exception of us leaving to go up there the day after I returned from a week long trip to China, the timing could not have been more perfect - as it was our dear friend Susan's (and Piper Jayne's Godmother) last weekend in NYC before moving back to San Diego, and other dear friends (Tim and Cindy Burns) were in town from San Diego for their daughter's graduation from NYU.
Despite the fact that Matt "hates" NYC, we had a great time seeing old friends, walking the streets of NYC and having some good family time. We saw Central Park, shopped in FAO Schwartz and drank way too much wine each night. It was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday weekend!
