It hits me now again, as it has occured to me several times over the last couple of weeks, that we almost have a 1 year old in our house! For now though, Piper is 11 months old and continues to brighten our days. I feel like a broken record when I update these monthly posts, but words cannot begin to express the joy she brings to our lives. The older she gets, the more attached we get, and the harder it is to be away from her! From the moment she wakes up in the morning until she goes to sleep at night (and even after she's asleep and we peek in on her) she is just our moon, sun and stars - and everything in between! She is our world!
Nowadays, she's up and about - walking all around furniture, walking while holding onto our hands, crawling faster than you would expect (she's a speed demon and knows when we're not looking - she'll make a beeline for the stairs!), she'll now stand up for 30 seconds or longer, until she gets tired and just sits down, and she's started crawling on her hands and feet - which is hysterical to watch. She's started eating better and eating more, though she still refuses to take a sippy cup! If that's the worse thing that ever happens, then I'm a lucky mamma.
She's started giving kisses and hugs - which just melt my heart, but they are few and far between and she refuses to do it on command! So, we just have to wait until she feels like it and soak it in while it lasts! And when she does feel like it - it is worth the wait to get a little kiss or hug from her. As we count down the days to her 1st birthday, I can only imagine what we have in store for the next year!!
