Wow, who can believe Piper is already one month old? I surely can't. The last 4 weeks have flown by and I can't believe I only have another month before I have to go back to work.
We've been enjoying our Mommy and Me time to the fullest- some days we never leave the house and just cuddle all day long, and other days we're out and about running errands or shopping. The weather has been so hot and humid lately, we haven't had much of a chance to enjoy the outdoors - most days we go from air conditioned house, to air conditioned car, to air conditioned store. But, at least we're getting out and about!
Piper is finally out of preemie diapers and clothes, and finally had a few more outfits that fit her! There were only about three onsies that fit her the first three weeks (one was light blue and people always thought she was a he!) and I had to do a LOT of laundry between having a limited supply of clothes that fit her and her diaper malfunctions! We learned quickly that Pampers Swaddlers are the way to go and Huggies should only be used in extreme emergencies and when you don't mind getting pooped on! Now that she's finally fitting into a few of her newborn sized clothes, the laundry needs have slowed down a bit. I've been hesitant though, to buy any clothes for her or to take the tags off the closet full she has received as gifts. If she's still barely fitting in newborn sizes at one month, who knows if she'll even make it into 3 month sizes at 6 months! I hope she starts growing though because she's got some adorable warm weather outfits that I want her to wear before it gets to be fall and winter. By the amount she's been eating these days, I shouldn't have anything to worry about!
My little Pixie still spends the majority of her days eating, sleeping and pooping. She usually gets the hiccups right after a feeding and it's the cutest thing. She's also starting to stay awake for longer - especially in the mornings. That's when she's the most alert and awake without fussing for being hungry. She definitely knows her days from her nights - and goes right back to sleep after eating at night with no rocking or holding and usually without her soothie (pacifier). We have outlawed the word "Binkie" in this household by the way! Matt and I have been doing great and adjusting to the change in our sleep pattern quite well. Sure, there are days we will take naps, but for the most part, life is pretty normal and the more days that pass since our beautiful daughter entered our world and our lives, the less we can remember, or care, what our lives were like before. It's a beautiful thing!
