Between a new house and a new baby, it's been awhile since Matt and I have had a lazy weekend. We're usually either out and about to Lowes, Home Depot or Costco, or busy around the house painting this, upgrading that or unpacking the last few boxes left.
This weekend, however, was a nice change of pace. Well, with the exception of a brief amount of time that we got to experience what it would be like the next time around (we watched our nephew/godson Blake overnight). For the first time in awhile, we didn't have any big projects to complete, no plans to go anywhere or do anything, and we just got to relax. The weather was beautiful yesterday and we enjoyed a long walk down the Baltimore and Annapolis Trail, and today is a lazy day inside as it pours rain outside.
Sure, there is the usual chores - doing a load of laundry or emptying the dishwasher....but it's nice to sit back, relax, and enjoy peace and quiet as Piper takes her afternoon nap. Ahhhh - now, I remember - THIS is what we used to do on the weekends before buying a house and having a baby!
Just look at her...she's saying, "Hello Mom! It would have been NICE if you had let my Aunts buy me some PINK!!!!!"
