Lake Gage - the lake where everyone waves at everyone. Known for being one of the cleanest lakes in the US and home to Vera Bradley's summer retreat. Oh, how I love Lake Gage!
Stop #2 on our Indiana Roadtrip took us to beautiful Lake Gage to visit with The Scheumann's, close friends of the Welch family.
We spent our time there soaking in the sun, eating, drinking, floating and boating. It was absolutely perfect weather, the water was the perfect temperature and it was just great catching up with Josh and Jenny, Josh's parents and even Matt's parents and Aunt Audrey came up for the day. I even got a chance to go kneeboarding around the lake, which was the first time I've done something like that in years! My pick was for skiing or boarding, but Matt kindly reminded me of the bum knee and bad back I have so I opted for the less daring and tried my had at knee boarding for the first time. It was still a fun ride, but I'm convinced it wasn't as fun as water skiing or wakeboarding!
We finished the night off with s'mores (using MUMBO JUMBO marshmallows) and more drinks around the bonfire before calling it a night and retiring to the big, beautiful lake house. What a perfect ending to a perfect summer day! Many thanks to Josh, Jenny, Sylvia and Denny for being wonderful hosts! (P.S. We were so busy having fun, I forgot to take pictures, so here are some from the morning before we left!)
