She's already got her mouth open ready to eat!
Thanksgiving was spent at Matt's parents house this year and there was no shortage of people willing to hold Piper! Matt's mom outdid herself with a huge, delicious spread and we literally ate all day long! In between feedings, we played the usual games - Rumikub and Catch Phrase, and just relaxed. It was a great day spent with family and much needed relaxation after our 9 hour overnight drive to get there!
A family tradition is to go around the table before saying grace (and diving into the delicious food), and each person has to say what they're thankful for. This year, we weren't allowed to say "family" since that's what most people say every year. Matt was thankful for the November election results and the Republicans being back in control of the House, and I took a more serious route and was thankful that my father is still alive, doing well and is in remission. However, there is so much more we are thankful for - so much in fact, that I would be here all day listing our blessings! We thank God every day for what he has given us - especially each other, Piper, our health, loving supportive families, jobs (and good ones that we like), and so much more. In all the activity that goes on during holidays, it sometimes slips your mind why you're actually celebrating - so it's nice to take a minute and truly give thanks for all we have.
