Ok, so I'm a little late with this one, considering she'll be 6 months in less than 2 weeks (OMG!) but better late than never!
At 5 months, Piper is, well, she's stinkin' adorable - even if I say so myself! She has such an amazing demeanor - she's totally laid back and just loves to be held. She finally found her feet and her voice over the Thanksgiving holiday and has begun to suck on her fingers again. The finger sucking could possibly be a sign that she's teething but no teeth have popped up just yet! She's rolling over on her own on a regular basis now, and loves doing crunches. She'll lay on her back and try to sit up - but she can't get herself up just yet, so it looks like she's trying to do a crunch or sit-up. If we sit her up, she'll stay there until she tips over to one side or the other - which is pretty funny! She's finally starting to grow some hair too!
Piper has finally graduated into size 2 diapers and size 3-6 month clothes. She's finally to the point that she doesn't need to be rocked to sleep, but we just lay her down when she's tired, turn on her musical sea horse and off she goes to sleepy sleepy land! She's still not too much of a fan of tummy time, but will put up with it for longer than she had been! She LOVES her bouncer/activity center and will play in it for, well, not for hours, but definitely longer than anything else!
She is still her happiest in the morning - and is just a riot to watch and play with. She's all smiles - from ear to ear - and it's impossible not to fall more and more in love with her each day! She's ticklish on her back, and LOVES when we blow raspberries on here - anywhere on her, but usually her belly, upper thighs and arm pits (babies armpits don't stink!). She loves to cuddle and we love to cuddle right back. It's hard to imagine loving anything more than we love our little Piper - she's the highlight of our days and some evenings, Matt and I will race up stairs when she wakes from a nap just to be the first one in her room to see her smile!! We can't wait to see what's in store for us the next 5 months!!
