My 5 year old nephew Price LOVES to come visit and have sleep-overs - and the kid has a memory like you wouldn't believe. If you tell him on a Saturday that he can spend the night the next weekend, he'll remember, and then he'll sit on the front step at his house with his little backpack packed, waiting to be picked up on Friday night for his sleep-over! This has happened more than once when Grandma or I have casually mentioned "no not tonight, but maybe next weekend".
So, Matt and I decided to compete for the Aunt and Uncle of the Year award and have a sleep-over. However, when there is more than one kid in the family, it's not fair to have one over and not the other. So, we ended up with both Price and 3 year old Blake sleeping over - in addition to Piper. Needless to say, we had our hands full! But, we had a great time - reading books, doing puzzles and watching movies. It was like practice for our family to be! Uncle Matt even built a fort for the boys to sleep under.
Both boys do very well with Piper, but Blake just adores her to death. Literally - if we didn't stop him, he'd probably hug and squeeze her to death, or maybe he'd just just eat her! :) He always wants to hold, kiss and hug her. Hopefully this affection will continue through the years, since they'll only be 2 years apart in school and will go to the same elementary, middle and high school together! At least we know we'll have Blake to protect and stand up for her! Then again, if she's my daughter, she probably won't need anyone for that - I'm sure she'll do just fine on her own!
