What a busy three weeks it has been! I can't believe that Piper is already 3 weeks old and growing faster by the day. Our days have been consumed by feeding, sleeping, changing poopy diapers, and any number of other activities that consume my time - from the typical household chores like laundry and dishes to continuing to unpack our final boxes from the move, finishing up Piper's nursery, painting various things around the house, and just spending quality time with my girl. There are some days I just don't want to put her down - and those are the days that I get absolutely nothing done! I'm probably causing terrible issues for us down the road - like her not falling asleep on her own or being clingy, but right now, I don't care. I love just holding her and looking into her big blue eyes and telling her how much I love her!
Piper has definitely gotten bigger, and next week we're going to weigh her on her 1 month birthday. I can't believe she's going to be a month old! She's finally able to fit into Newborn diapers though she still has a few preemie ones we need to finish up, and is finally fitting into newborn clothes. Up until now, we only had a couple of onsies that actually fit her, and the rest of the time she has been in outfits that are way too big for her! Though, she eats so much, it amazes me she's not already in 3 month clothes! At this rate though, we'll be lucky if she fits into 3 month clothes by Christmas time. What is sad is all the adorable outfits we've received as gifts - and I doubt she'll be able to wear most of them since it'll be cold by the time she's big enough to fit into them. Who knows though, she may have a few growth spurts ahead of her!
The Pipster continues to be very alert - which she has been from the moment she was born. When she's awake, her eyes are constantly looking around and checking things out. She's able now to follow my voice with her eyes. She's also been able to hold her head up since pretty much the first week. One of us will put her on our chest facing us and she'll lift her head and just look from side to side slowly. She's like a little turtle - and when she gets tired, she just puts her head back on our chests. Matt got some video of it the other night!
We finally had a couple of evenings this week that weren't a million degrees out so we were finally able to take her for a couple of walks and enjoy the outdoors. It was nice to not be locked up indoors in the AC or running from house to car to store!
