Piper's Party

Due to the fact that my comany's biggest event of the year (the BIO International Convention which brought 15,000+ people to DC) was the week of Piper's birthday and party, I only had about 2 days to fully plan Piper's 1st birthday party, with a few stolen minutes here and there in the weeks that led up to it. Many thanks to my wonderful husband who was my "utility player" and did as great as my staff had done the week before. Only his job responsibilities included cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, and moping the kitchen floor, among other things! It was probably one of the very few times in our lifetime that he took my barking orders without question or complaint!

We started off the day with family photos since Matt's parents were in town and my whole family was there. Which created a packed house long before the first guests arrived! The day ended with fireworks in the street - what a way to celebrate Piper Jayne's 1st birthday!
