So, it drives Matt nuts when I wait until last minute to do things. And I admit, I totally DO wait until last minute. I don't know why - I suppose it's part of my ADD. I may start a project, but it takes me weeks and sometimes months to finish it - if I ever do. Take for instance, Piper's crib bedding that I had planned on sewing myself. I started back in November looking for fabric and finally found what I wanted around February. Then, I bought an awesome new sewing machine, kicked out a couple of crib sheets, then it all sat there until it got packed up for the move. And now, it's still all just sitting here. Untouched. I finally went to PBK and bought her a set. At any given time, there are probably 5 or 6 unfinished "projects" sitting around the house. I've got the good intentions, I just end up not having the time or energy to complete them!
Anyhow, a couple of months ago we decided the Matt was going to be the "Jolly Green Giant" and Piper was going to be a "Pea in the Pod" for Halloween. I purchased some supplies over a month ago, and before I knew it, it was 10am on Saturday and we had a whole day of errands to run and a Halloween party at 7pm. I hadn't so much as cut out a single leaf, let alone find green sweat pants, shirt, etc for under the leaves. Much to his surprise though (and if I were being completely honest, my own surprise), I pulled through! The stars were shining down on me and not only was I able to find green sweats and a green t-shirt, but I got all the leaves cut out and attached to his shirt with only about 5 minutes of his help. Now, my costume was a whole other issue! I hadn't given a thought to what I was going to be so I dug deep in my bin of costumes and came out with the tried and true, Girl Scout uniform. Too bad the Thin Mints we ordered from the neighborhood troop just arrived today - what a great prop those would have been!
